Why Stonewillow Exists

"I created Stonewillow because I know what it feels like to be inside a care service when everything is coming at you at once"

I created Stonewillow because I know what it feels like to be inside a care service when everything is coming at you at once.

I’ve spent years leading services, managing quality and governance, supporting teams, preparing for inspection and stepping into services that needed structure, stability and direction.

I’ve worked as a Registered Manager, senior operational leader and CQC Nominated Individual, and I’ve seen first-hand how quickly pressure can build when governance, people and day-to-day operations stop working together.

I’ve also seen what is possible when the right support is put in place. I have led services through CQC inspection, supported a service from Requires Improvement to Good in around three months, and previously led services to achieve Outstanding.

Stonewillow was created because I wanted to offer something different from traditional consultancy.

I didn’t want to build a business that simply arrives, identifies twenty problems, produces a report and leaves the provider to deal with them.

I wanted to create the kind of support I would have valued when I was running services myself.

Practical. Calm. Honest. Experienced. And willing to stay alongside you while things actually get fixed.

That is why the Stonewillow approach is:
Find it. Fix it. Embed it.

We find what is really happening.
We work with you to put it right.
And we help make sure the improvement lasts.

I know what responsibility feels like

Not advice from the sidelines.

I’ve worked as a Registered Manager, senior operational leader and CQC Nominated Individual, with responsibility for quality, governance, people, performance and regulatory readiness. I understand what it feels like when the service is busy, the risks are growing and everyone still expects you to have the answers.

I’ve sat in the chair.

Stonewillow isn’t built on theory. I’ve carried the responsibility, faced the inspection, supported the manager, untangled the governance and stayed long enough to see the improvement through.

I invest in managers

Because stronger managers build stronger services.

Some of the work I’m proudest of has been developing people — mentoring staff, building confidence and helping individuals progress in their careers and step into greater responsibility. Stonewillow doesn’t just improve systems. I want to strengthen the people leading them.

Do you invest in your managers — or only when something goes wrong?

Multi-service operations

I stay for the messy bit

Finding the gap is only the beginning.

A report telling you what is wrong has limited value if nobody has the time, confidence or structure to put it right. I work alongside services to prioritise, fix, implement and embed — so the work leads to real change rather than another action plan sitting in a folder.

Outstanding leadership experience

I don’t just strengthen services. I strengthen the people leading them.

“Working with Stonewillow was a turning point for our management team. The mentoring provided was insightful and helped us build the confidence needed for a successful inspection.”

Don’t just take my word for it, read what others say

“They didn't just tell us what was wrong; they stayed to help us fix it. Their Find it, Fix it, Embed it methodology works perfectly and ensures lasting quality improvements.”
